Of course, Melman doesn't have to look far to spot the smallish lemur. Being as tall as he is, even laying down, he can see quite a distance around the zoo campus.
"Oh, I see them--over there by the penguin exhibit, right?" he asks, looking back at Joel for confirmation, "Cute kid. Congratulations to the both of you."

Melman blinks at the smallish lemur perched on his back and bends his long neck around to get a better look at her. After a moment, he smiles and nudges her gently with his muzzle.
"She's even cuter up close," he confesses, "How old is she?"
