An attempt at drawing Gloria

Seeing as Gloria apparently hasn't gotten much attention in the fanart department, I'm going to attempt to draw her. I'll be using a reference, so it won't be anything original, but hopefully I can come up with something worth displaying. If I succeed, you'll see a pic or two of her here. If you don't see anything here within the next few days, I failed. If anyone else is willing, it'd be great to see if you can draw Gloria.

Also, I was wondering what people here think of using references to draw. Cheating, or a step in the right direction?

(UPDATE: The good news is that I just finished a drawing of her not too long ago. The bad news is that my scanner apparently isn't terribly interested in helping me put an exact reproduction of the drawing on my computer, because it refuses to pick up most of the shading. If I do upload the pic that I drew, it'll probably just be a digital camera pic of it, which while being unconventional, should show the pic as I intended for it to be shown. If anyone has any suggestions for how I could make the scanner pick up every detail of the drawing, please let me know ASAP.)

Hey! I understand... Gloria is so underappreciated. I mean, look at all the fanfics - Gloria isn't even IN most of them! Especially romance ones, where everyone uses the lovesick OC generator to make a mate for each canon character, yet again, not including Gloria(Who could *possibly* be paired off with any of the other Zoosters - Pick one, the others can go off and have their own lovers).
You see, people like to read canon/canon-centered fics, not pure Canon/OC all through.

Well, I dunno exactly how to fix a scanner, maybe just get a more high-quality one? (But even my cheap scanner(Thank god it broke) shows every little flaw of my drawings. X______________X)

Well, I took a pic with the digital camera, and it turned out OK, so I uploaded it. Here it is:


My thoughts: first of all, there are a few extremely minor details that still didn't show up, but there's not much I can do about that I guess. Second, I didn't do a very good job of shading on the pic. I'm not really used to a lot of shading, so I'm definitely not the best at it. Last, not until I actually uploaded the picture did I realize that her feet don't look right. I changed them slightly, so I may eventually re-upload the pic, but for now, this will do.

Let me know what you guys think, especially in the "What Could've I Done Better?" Department.
