OOC- Trying to pick up the Julien/Tiki plot again here.
BIC- Julien stolls along the beach in broad daylight, pacing up and down where the waves meet the shore. Occasionally, he stoops to pick something up, then--more often than not--he makes a face and casts it out into the sea.
"It has to be perfect," he mutters to himself, continuing to pace, his gaze fixed on the ground directly in front of his feet, "Can't be broken...or dirty...or ugly...or anything like dat. Has to be perfect."
One can only guess what he's doing, but--from a distance--his behavior is a bit comical...if not a little eccentric. It's even more comical when a crab reaches up from the sand and catches a hold of his tail. The "majestic" king of the lemurs takes off running up the beach, kicking up sand and screaming bloody murder all the way.

Tiki missed having Julien around, he hadn't really had a lot of free time lately... Tiki sighed and looked out on the lake from where she sat on a large tree limb wishing Julien were with her. "It's just not the same as it used to be,"
Lately, the foosa had been showing up more frequently, which was not doing any good for Julien's tribe and the little Mort was more annoying than ever. Slowly, Julien's tribe just seemed to be falling apart. Things weren't that same as they used to be, and Tiki doubted they ever would.

In an act of sheer desperation, Julien grabs a large rock and raises it high with every intention of smashing the crab that has so viciously seized his royal tail. Unfortunately, mere seconds before the rock comes down, the crab lets go and scuttles away, leaving Julien to inevitably smash his own tail.
"Aiiiieee!" he shrieks in pain, his tail pulsing and his eyes watering, "My tail! My lovely, bushy, perfectly striped tail!"
Whimpering pathetically, he scoops up his limp, now crooked tail and cradles it in his arms, stroking it as though it is a living thing apart from himself.
"I am so sorry," he sniffles, "Poor, pretty tail. I was trying to smash dat crabby crab--honest."
Padding back down closer to the water, not really watching where he's going as he is preoccupied with his injured tail, he trips and falls over a piece of driftwood, landing face-first in the shallow water where the tide stands at the moment. A loud "clunk" is heard as Julien hits his head on something the water has washed up.
"What da--?" he blinks, picking himself up out of the water and glowering at this thing he has struck his royal head on, "Aha! I've found it! It's perfect!"

The Madagascan sun had already began to set streaking the sky with pink and purple. The smell of fresh fruit drifted through the sky as many of the lemurs in the tribe began to eat their evening meal. It smelled delicious...Tiki decided she would join them.
She hopped down from the low branch she rested on and scurried to the dining hall where many of the other lemurs had already met and were chattering away. wThey drank fresh spring water out of coconut shell found from the beach and picking from a large medly of colorful fruits.

A bedraggled, frazzled Julien, under the cover of darkness in the deeper parts of the jungle, has scurried off to the wrecked plane up in the baobob tree. Pulling out an emergency tool kit stashed in the thingypit, he begins noisily working on...something. Needless to say, he won't make it to dinner tonight. As the moon rises up over the trees causing light to spill through the windshield, he holds up his creation.
"It's alive!" he cackles loudly, then calms down, "Well, it's not exactly alive, but it is very pretty, yes."

Tiki ate the rest of her meal solemnly. Julien wasn't at dinner again, where could he be all this time? The dinner table had already begun to clear up as stuffed lemurs husted to their tree canopy for nighttime.
Tiki finished off the rest of her water before pushing her chair out from under her and making her way to the dininghall door. She was going to look for Julien. She couldn't rest wondering what he was up to all this time.
About a half and hour passed and Tiki still hadn't found the ring-tailed lemur king. She had looked in all his favorite places; the waterfall, canopy, ect. but couldn't find him anywhere.
"It is getting late, I'll just rest up for a minute," She yawned and took a set near the base of a tree. Against her will, slowly she fell asleep.

It is now the dark hours just before dawn as Julien heads back to the heart of his territory. He finds Tiki and realizes she is asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he quietly gives her the gift he'd been secretly working on--a bunch of tiny polished shells strung together on a thin vine, forming a delicate necklace.
"Good night, my little flower," he says softly, bowing slightly and blowing her a kiss, then tip-toeing off to catch a little shuteye before the sun rises.

A few hours later the hot summer sun began to rise throughout Madagascar. Tiki yawned herself awake and realized she had accidentally fallen asleep on the ground. She was lucky she didn't fall prey to a dangerous foosa overnight though.
She sighed and stood up, brushing dirt from her tail and back. She was dusting off her neck when she felt it. A tiny seashell necklace. "Julien," She murmmered almost silently before heading off to the heart of the tribe, ready to thank Julien for his annonymous gift.

Julien is still sleeping, sprawled out on his belly, arms dangling lazily off the edge of his throne as he snores and drools almost as bad as old Morathi. His tail is wrapped in a leafy bandage from his encounter with the cranky crab and his fur is still a mess from his beach-combing.

Tiki walked up to him. It was the first time she had seen him for longer than 5 seconds for a really long time. She stiffled a laugh as she watched his odd sleep continue.
A green object lured her eyes to his tail. It was a leaf wrapped around his tail somewhat like a bandage. She unravled it to see what it was hiding. She grimaced when she saw a red sore which looked very uncomfortable.

"Nasty pinchy little sand-creeper!" Julien mutters in his sleep, flicking his tail as though trying to get it just out of reach of that crab again. Unfortunately, in doing so, he knocks the sore spot against his throne, causing a jolt of pain that zaps him out of his slumber.
"Aiiieee!" he jolts upright, biting his lower lip as his eyes start watering again and he turns to soothe his pulsing tail, but nearly jumps out of his skin when his eyes fall on Tiki, "Aaaaaahh! Tiki...I--you--we...I, uh...wh-what are you doing here?"
He offers a silly grin, wiping a little drool off his chin with the back of his paw as he distractedly ties a new leaf bandage on his tail.

"I'm sorry about your tail and all-" Tiki trailed off, touching his tail soothingly. "But I just thought I would come and thank you personally for your beautiful gift," She touched the necklace.
"So, what happened with you tail?" She paused for a second to let Julien answer but threw in before he could answer, "Oh wait? Does it have to do with 'nasty pinchy little sand creepers?'" She couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"You like it?" Julien asks, getting a little babbly in his nervousness, "I was hoping you'd like it because I thought it would match your eyes and I like your eyes and--wait. How do you know dat's from me?"
He winces instinctively as she reaches out to touch the slightly crooked point on his tail where the injury is, but her touch doesn't hurt him. He forces an awkward smile, then quirks a brow as she asks what happened to him and references what he had called the crab in his sleep.
"Ah, yes, I was on de beach ova dare and I was pinched on de tail by a nasty little crab about dis big," he uses his hands to demonstrate the size of the crab, "It attacked me with its nasty little pinchers, so I let him have it! Dat little creeper won't ever mess with de king again."
Of course, Julien isn't really telling the whole story here. It would be a bit embarrassing for him if he was to tell of his mishap trying to smash the crab with a rock, so he conveniently leaves that part out.

"You really like my eyes?" Tiki asks, batting her long eyelashes over her amethyst colored eyes. "And to answer your other question, I don't really know how I knew it was you..." She shrugged her shoulders nonchallantely. "I guess I just figured. You know how that works, right? But thanks again for it anyway. It's the most beautiful, unique piece of jewelry I've ever seen!" She touched the place on her neck where the cold shells were strung.
This definantly was the most wonderful thing anyone had ever even thought to give her. She would treasure it forever.

"Of course, I like your eyes," Julien replies whole-heartedly, "Dey remind me of a...a lavender sunset ova de beach, you know? De type of color you get out of de sunset just before twilight."
Realizing he's getting a little bit carried away in an almost poetic moment--even if it is a bit awkward--he pauses abruptly and chuckles nervously, rubbing the back of his neck and glancing away. He can feel his face turning red under his fur. Why does he feel so silly around this pretty little lemur?

"Thanks you..." Tiki also began to blush under her chocolate colored fur. She usually didn't feel this awkward around Julien.
The white fronted brown lemur, feeling totally embarrassed, didn't want the handsome lemur kinng to know how silly she felt. Abruptly, she spun and plastered large, silly grin on her face.

"Oh, I, uh...I meant to apologize for my absense last night," Julien replies suddenly, trying to change the subject and avoid an "awkward silence", "I wasn't at de feast last night because...well, I was working on dat for you. But I will be making it up to you. I tought dat maybe...you and I could...have dinner togedder and watch de sunset on de beach tonight--if you want to, dat is."

This last comment made Tiki's eyes light up. She spun back around to face the ring-tailed lemur. "That would be wonderful! I've always wanted to watch the sunset on the beach! I can't wait till tonight. I'll even wear this beautiful piece of art you spent all night on,"
She glanced down at his tail again. If he hadn't have gone out to look for the perfect seashells for her, none of that would have happened.

"Excellent!" Julien grins, gently tipping her chin up with his paw while kicking his tail out of view with his left foot. He immediately regrets that second action, but he blinks away the watery eyes and bites back a whimper of pain, hiding is self-inflicted pain pretty well.
"Shall we meet just as de sun is about to meet de water?" he asks after regaining his ability to speak.

"Great then!" She looked at where the sky was at the current moment. It was still high in the sky as it was still early afternoon. Tiki had plenty of time to prepare. The lemur still needed to get cleaned up and maybe find something special of her own to bring to Julien.

"Okay den," Julien grins, straightening as he snatches up his crown that has been perched on the edge of his throne the entire time and places it on his head, "I will see you dis evening. For now, I must go see to my kingly duties and...stuff."
In truth, he will spend the remainder of the day preparing the dinner setting down by the beach, but he's not going to tell Tiki that. After all, as king, he should send someone else to make the preparations, but this is something he can't afford to have some bumbling idiot--unlike himself *sarcasm*--mess up for him. He feels much safer doing things on his own as he truly wishes to impress Tiki with his own resourcefulness.

Tiki also scurried off to prepare herself for the evening. She threw warm water over her fur to make sure she was absolutely clean and made sure her fur looked especially good after it was dry. She then added the final touch by clipping the seashell necklace back around her neck. She was ready to meet Julien. Tiki headed off to the beach.

Julien has spent the entire afternoon setting up for the dinner date. He has decorated a flat-topped rock with various exotic flowers and torches stand staked out in the sand, ready to be lit when the sun goes down. He has even picked and washed the fruits himself--and without turning everything into a complete disater...yet.
He is still puttering only moments before Tiki is supposed to meet him. He can't decide whether to put the blue flower arrangement on the left or the right side of the table and he continues switching it back and forth, pausing to look at it, then switching it around again. Needless to say, he's so lost in fussy thought, when Tiki shows up, he will probably startle.

Tiki jumped down suddenly from a rock that led to the beach. She noticed Julien standing a little way down the beach with a table ready with delicious fruits. The decorations were amazingly beautiful, did he do that all by himself?
The brown lemur started to make her way toward Julien when she realized she had left her gift for him back at the tribe. She looked up at the sun. The lemur didn't have time to run back and get it, she decided to just give it to him later and made her way over to the table.

"Maybe dey would look better on de ground?" Julien asks himself, putting the flower arrangement on the ground, then stepping back to look it over, but in stepping back, he bumps into Tiki and, as could be expected, it startled him, "Aaaaaahhh!"
He leaps into the air, nearly losing his crown as he spins around. He calms down upon realizing it's Tiki--somewhat. Try as he might, he really can't hide the fact that he's nervous.
"Ah, Tiki," he chuckles, quickly turning to put the flowers back on the "table", then spinning back to face her, "You're earl--uh...right on time!"
Looking over her shoulder, he realizes she couldn't be more punctual. He had been so wrapped up in trying to make everything perfect that time had just slipped away from him and he's been oblivious the whole time.
"Well, uh...have a seat," he zips over to pull a "chair" out for her, then he takes a seat across from her, being careful not to bump his tail on anything--or accidentally sit on it, "So...tell me about yourself, Tiki. We have all de time in de world."

"Uh..." Tiki starts awkwardly. "What would you like to know? My life right now is typically a bore. I can from Julius's side of the island and have, or at least think I have, a younger brother..." She slows down as her mind drifts back to the past trying to recall some of the life she used to know. "Anyway, tell me about you..."

"I'm de king," Julien shrugs, "What more is dare to tell? You must tell me, do you tink your brudder is on dis side of de island or is he still under my stupid brudder's reign? You know, I don't talk about it much, but I do pity his poor subjects. Julius is quite de pathetic wanna-be king, you know?"

Tiki's eyes lit up at his last comment, "You mean it? You really do?! Thank you so much Julien!" Tiki truley was happy now. She looked out to the ocean as she took a bite of a nice, juicey mango. "Mmm..." She mummbled while she chewed.
