*The tawny lion with the awesome plushy mane, rolls over restlessly in his sleep, mumbling something about being hungry... a big juicy steak... yum, yum, yum... smacks his lips in his sleep and then opens his mouth and bites down...*
*right on his own thumb!*
"OUCH! That hurt!"
*Alex sticks his thumb in his mouth and sucks on it until the pain subsides then wipes it dry on his beautiful fur. He stretches slowly, looking around and trying to remember where he is...*
"Uh, Marty? I don't think we are at the Zoo anymore? Where are we?"
*Unbeknownst to Alex yet, Marty, Gloria and MelMan are nowhere to be found... YET!*

"Ah, good morning, Mr. Alex!" Julien's loud voice greets the barely wakeful lion, "I was just about to--you still suck your thumb?"
The ring-tailed lemur stares at Alex for a moment, then shrugs it off with a shake of his head. Bouncing around like a hyperactive jumping bean, he finally perches himself on Alex's shoulders.
"You friends are off have a grand ol' time down by de waterhole...I tink," he looks puzzled for a moment, "Anyway, I came to invite you and your giant freaky friends to de party we're having tonight. You like to move it, move it, yes?"

*Alex gives the lemur an annoyed look*
"For your information, you psycho! I wasn't sucking my thumb... I was dreaming... I am hungry... I bit my thumb thinking it was a steak..."
*As he looks at the lemur, he gets all fuzzy eyed... He rubs his eyes and looks at the lemur again... a steak! a big, fat, juicy steak!!! Yum!*
"Alex hungry! Alex eat!"
*Disregarding anything else, Alex crouches and begins to approach the annoying lemur slowly... slowly... claws beginning to extend in anticipation!!!*

"Hmmm, kinda hairy... undercooked... but, maybe if I borrow the foosa's salt and pepper, it'll taste a little better... awful boney too!"

Julien braces his hands against the roof of Alex's mouth and his feet against his lower jaw and stretches his body, trying to pry the lion's mouth open so he can escape.
"So I personally invite you to de party and dis is how you tank me?" he strains, fighting against the strength in Alex's jaws, "You let me go dis instant or I, King Julien XIII, will have you punished, Mr. Alex! I'm de king! You're not supposed to eat de king! You can eat de king's fat little advisor, but not de king!"

*Alex happens to look up at Psycho just as the camera flashes... it catches him off guard and he rubs his eyes and slackens his jaw, thereby losing his tight grip on Julien.*
"What'd you go and do that for you nutso psycho lemur!?"
"Oh, King Julien, (you jabbering psycho as well) I am so sorry. I am just so hungry! Do you have anything good to eat at the party?"

"Yuk...New York giant slobber," Julien mutters, pulling gobs of slime out of his fur, "Dat's all right, Mr. Alex. I'll overlook it because I'm nice. Anyway, yes, dare will be a feast at de party. Does dat mean you'll come den?"

At that moment, Melman, the hypochondriac--and slightly clumsy--giraffe enters the scene, his long-legged, ground-eating strides quickly closing the gap between himself and Alex and the lemur king despite the fact that his gait is relatively slow.
Nearing the two, he bends his neck low so his head is closer to the level upon which they stand. He nods in greeting to King Julien, then turns his attention toward his leonine friend, Alex.
"Hey, Alex, you're missing a good time over there," Melman smiles gently, "The gang has been over there for hours. We didn't want to wake you, but I see his majesty couldn't wait any longer."
Again, he nods to King Julien, trying to show that his comment is not intended to offend the king in any way. Putting his neck around Alex, he leans his head close in a friendly buddy type way.
"So, are you coming?" he asks again at length, "It might do you good, you know? I'm telling you, I haven't had to really worry about my health since we've been here with these bozos. I think their therapy is making the brown spots on my shoulder go away."
