The New Girl

[King Julien]

Though he had originally come up here to watch the sunrise, Julien quickly finds himself watching Tiki instead--totally lost in her beauty as the hues of the rising sun highlight her rich brown fur. His half-closed eyes hold a lovestruck expression as he merely stares quietly, a goofy, dazed smile on his muzzle.

Tiki was suddenly torn from the heavenly scene as she realzied Julien wasn't paying much attention to the sunrise. She smiled and blushed when she realized he was looking at her.

[King Julien]

Julien's eyes widen and he almost falls completely off the rock as Tiki catches him staring at her. He grins stupidly as he straightens his crown, feeling extremely awkward at the moment.

"Uh..." his eyes dart around as he searches for something to talk about that might change the unspoken subject, "Beautiful scenery, eh?"

"Um...yeah, I guess..." Tiki wasn't that surprised. Another attempt from Julien to mask his increadibly stupid mistakes.

Julien, in his haste, had put his crown on his head, half leaning on his ear. She straightened it for him then turned back with him to watch the end of the sunrise.

[King Julien]

"So...do you, umm...have any plans for de day?" Julien asks at length, idly rubbing the back of his neck.

[kingjuliengirl]

"No, not really..." Tiki answered looking back into Julien's eyes. "You know, I'm still pretty new here, so um...I'm not really accustumed to the rules and schedules."

[King Julien]

"Den we'll take it slow," Julien shrugs nonchallantly, "I'll introduce you to some trusted friends of mine and dey can help show you de ropes. Life is pretty simple here. We're a free-spirited, fun-loving bunch...unlike Julius and his lot of sticks in de mud."

Tiki giggled. She wanted to get to know more people, this would be fun. "Well, where do we start then?" She asked, jumping from the rock and taking Julien with her.

[King Julien]

"Well, let's see," Julien replies, allowing himself to be pulled along, "You haven't really met Maurice yet...or Torii...or Preston...and you don't wanna meet Mort or Morathi--both of dem are as annoying as all get-out."

[kingjuliengirl]

"I wouldn't mind meeting them...but didn't I meet Morathi once? You know last night when you kicked him out of his branch for me?" She laughed remembering Julien's failures.

[King Julien]

"Nah, you didn't really meet him--lucky you," Julien replies, "You just saw him--which is good enough. Aha! Dhere's Maurice. Maurice! C'mere a second!"

"Yes?" Maurice asks, standing before Julien, "You want me to accomplish something you cannot again, your highness?"

"Keep dat up and I'll be kicking your highness," Julien mutters, then gestures toward Tiki, "Dis is Tiki. She's decided to join our tribe."

"You sure she's not an enemy spy?" Maurice asks, knowing where Tiki had come from.

"Yes, I'm sure," Julien hisses in response.

"How do you know?" Maurice persists.

"Because she said she's not a spy!" Julien growls, getting frustrated with Maurice's challenging.

Maurice merely rolls his eyes, though he knows it's just like Julien to simply take a girl's word for it.[/b][/color]

"Well, he's a real joy huh? Is he like this all the time?" Tiki asked looking at Julien.

[King Julien]

"Yes," Julien mutters, rolling his eyes slightly, then moving off to find someone who isn't such a wet blanket, "Oh, Toooooooooooriiiiiii!"

[kingjuliengirl]

"Yes?!" Torii asked merrily, jumping to where the self-proclaimed king and the newest member to the tribe stood.

[King Julien]

"Torii, dis is Tiki; Tiki, Torii," Julien replies, introducing the two lemurs to each other, "She's new around here and I thought you might be able to help her get de hang of things around here. She's so used to Julius's idiotic ways, she doesn't know what to do here, poor thing."

Torii glanced Tiki over briefly from front and back before her face lite up and a smile covered her face. "Sure can you're highness! I'll show her everything there is to this tribe!"

[King Julien]

"See dat you do," Julien grins, finding this incredibly convenient at the moment, "And take your time. I have some, eh...royal errands to run, but I'll be back."

Lightly kissing Tiki's hand once again, he departs. His "royal errands" aren't necessarily errands. Intent on expressing his feelings for Tiki, he plans to have a feast and a party prepared for the evening in honor of her joining his tribe. True, he's never done this for any other new member, but that's beside the point.

"So, uh...Tiki?" She paused. "That is your name right? Anyway, how bout I show you around this place?" Torii asked, pushing Tiki along from behind.

"Yes Torii, that is my name. And I'd enjoy that you show me around. Thank you!" Tiki smiled to show her thanks.

[King Julien]

Meanwhile, Julien is consulting his advisor on the matter at hand. He wants everything to be perfect for this event.

"You've never done anything like this for any other new members before," Maurice points out the obvious, wondering what Julien is up to.[/i][/b]

"Well, uh...dat's because I never thought up the idea before," Julien replies matter-of-factly, "Now here's a list of things I need you to find and bring back for de bash tonight."[/color]

Ayoka, a brown and white speckled lemur, was picking berries when Torii came up with another lemur. Ayoka knew who she was even before Torii introduced her to Tiki.

"Oh, hey Ayoka...this is Tiki. Tiki, this is Ayoka!" Torii introduced the two of them.

"Hi!" Tiki beamed, glad to have finally met someone new. She grabbed an outstreached hand and began to shake it.

Ayoka surprised to see how firm Tiki's grip was, she managed to say "nice to met you"

"Nice to meet you too!" She let go of Ayoka's hand. "So...what next?" Tiki, being from over on Juliu's side of the island, had almost no social skills. But she was determined for that to change.

[gloria05]

"you could always go and see the waterful" *Ayola suggested*

[kingjuliengirl]

"Sounds fun!" Tiki piped, bouncing slightly. "Let's go!"

[gloria05]

"bye nice to meet you" *Ayoka said to Tiki*

Together, Tiki and Torii headed for the waterfall, Torii leading of course. The waterfall was some way off but when they reached the falling water, the sight amazed Tiki. "Wow..." She stared up at it.

[gloria05]

"i hope they have fun" Ayoka said to herself

[kingjuliengirl]

"Torii, this is just simply amazing!" Tiki looked at her friend.

"Well, yeah, I guess so..." Torii was kind of baffled. She had never really known anyone so new to the experience of a waterfall. "Do they not have these on Julius's side of the island?"
